Situated on the Bow River, among foothills and prairie, Alberta’s largest city is an easy three-hour drive to the U.S. border and just one hour from the Rockies. It’s easy to ‘get away from it all’ in a large province with a small population. Whether it’s winter sports, cycling the city’s pathways, hiking a national park, mellowing out at a folk festival or going to a symphony concert, there’s something for everyone who wants to rent Calgary apartments.
It must be said, however, that some newcomers find Calgary lacks the historical culture they’ve left and feels isolated – an island city, a long way from the sea in the middle of a vast prairie. The long cold winters may also take some adjustment for those from warmer climes.
